ESP-Me Wi-Fi Enabled Front Panel Replacement

Please follow these instructions to replace the front panel of your Rain Bird ESP-Me controller. Replacing this panel is necessary for the WiFi connectivity to work in conjunction with the Rain Bird LNK WiFi Module (sold separately). Please proceed as follows:

Warning: Download into your mobile device the latest version of the Rain Bird' mobileapp from the Apple or Google Play Store for iOS and Android devices respectively. To complete the installation, you must have a Rain Bird LNK WiFi Module (sold separately).
Write down your current irrigation schedule.
Remove 115V/220V power from the ESP-Me. The screen should show no messages/icons.
Open the front cover (door) of your ESP-Me.
Disconnect the ribbon cable (it is gray with a red strip on the top) located on the upper left of your installed controller. With your index finger and thumb, grab the black end connector of the ribbon cable that connects to the panel and pull it out gently.
Remove the front panel by gently pushing the lower left end up of the front panel until the pin at the same location disconnects.
lnstall the Rain Bird' replacement front panel. First inserting the top pin (upper left corner; it is the longer pin) in the housing receptacle and then driving the pin in the lower left into its position.
lnstall the LNK WiFi module (sold separately). Follow LNK WiFi Module instructions to pair your controller with the LNK Module and enable the mobile app.
Plug the ribbon cable you disconnected in step 5 from the old front cover into the replacement cover.
Reapply 115V/220V power to your ESP-Me controller. The screen should show certain messages.
Reprogram your irrigation schedule. You may use the schedule you wrote down on step 1 or re-program the unit anew. lf needed, follow the instructions in the ESP-Me manual.
Verify you can use your ESP-Me WiFi connectivity and mobile app.
